Are mental problems a joke to some people who have clinics set up inworld? Well, it seems so. I got a message from a certain person who came across this post on Inworld Employment forum of Second Life and instantly decided to find out what it was exactly all about. The owner of Tranquillity Therapy Clinic was kind enough to answer their one question inworld.
I have a feeling that she cannot comprehend the seriousness of psychological issues. She claims to be hiring “trained therapists” who will be paid 80 L$ per hour and “50% of patient fees – per client they have a session booked with and held.” The application form created by her clearly states that “RL Identity and/or location is not permitted to be shared nor requested from anyone.”
Really? As a patient in distress who wants to pay to talk to a therapist inworld, I don’t have the right to see the qualification proof and practicing license of this “trained therapist”? If that’s the case then these “therapists” should just be trained listeners for free and not give any advice to patients unless everyone can see their real life profile with verifiable information. Much like 7 Cups.
My advice to anybody who wants to own a business inworld and succeed at it: Don’t come near the clinical field unless it is strictly a role-play. And if you actually want the best for people with mental problems, then direct them to a qualified and experienced therapist in the real world instead of taking advantage of them in Second Life.

She doesn’t work here actually. We are not taking advantage of anyone. There’s nothing even in this post to remotely proves that. It’s full of assumptions, not facts nor evidence. It’s whats known as slander.

Thats not how the ToS works.. LL can not stop you from posting on a site not owned by LL. You can share any and all chat logs on any site not owned by LL. Please try understanding how laws and ToS work before spouting off.

Given that a group of “accounts” decided to concern troll all over another post about job offerings, going way off topic, to which a Linden Lab Employee defended us. Should speak volumes.
This was purely a revenge post from rejection via this persons application. Due to having a lack of experience in Therapy work openly stating they do not have experience.
Also, if you look at the application you’ll realise that there isn’t anything actually stated where a Therapist can not share their experience. The only thing mentioned is assurance that we protect clients RL identity.

They didn’t defend -you-, it was only asked that the tone be kept civil, which regarded everyone in the thread. No posts were removed, no one was suspended or even warned. The issue of your business has been forwarded to LL’s legal team, whether they decide to act or not we’ll just have to wait and see. Considering how people reacted in that thread and in this blog and its comments, and how it appears your sim’s traffic has dropped (if I remember correctly from when I checked last week), I’d say good progress is being made either way.

Ok come and ask the Therapists for yourself and they will tell you. I’ve not stopped anyone from doing so, and offered this already. Agaain Linden Lab would not defend if there was actually something like that going on.
Also this is a partial Chatlog to which the person has actually hidden their name. Does that not show you that they have something to hide in itself? Try asking, not assuming.

OK asking, not assuming it is then: What legislation does your business fall under, so we can enquire how legit it is from the authorities themselves?
It is as easy as asking “is this legit in your country” even if I am a foreigner, they will either answer “yes” or “Hell no, thanks for pointing this one out to us”…

As for IMs I am not actually bothered by it, however tos does not state its permitted on any sites it stastes without permission you aren’t permitted to share any private IMs. But anyway wasting my time trying to reason considering you where moderated by Liden Lab to stop going off topic and only to continue if civil and constructive. Since I’ve been unfairly slandered and “exposed” if you will – via that minimal chatlog.
The avatar I was speaking too, was called timeclock. One who has also been seen trolling people via SLs community forums.
The full chatlog (which I’m not bitter enough to post here nor bothered even saving it at the time) was an applicant through another account, who was rejected for a position as Therapist here due to putting no proof of any experience nor qualifications.
This person who wrote this knows aswell, however when you come to the Therapy Section of the application proof of experience is asked. Also Therapists in-world have information of their qualifications aswell.
I was reluctant to tell this person as they originally was critical of not being given a chance compared to others – who could prove experience as a Therapist/Counsellor in RL. Hence why with the selective chatlog (which is against TOS by the way doesn’t matter where it shown without consent) actually shown I replied the way I did. Because I’m not fake, nor will I take others in our team being criticised by someone like that. There was no need in it. There are positions I don’t require experience for such as working at reception as Support Staff.
The part in the artical which has also been twisted about not sharing RL information. Was assurance what it said between clients and staff is 100% confidential and meeting SL TOS’s guideline of never disclosing anyone’s RL information aswell.
I’m going to make a suggestion, if you want to slam me that’s fine, but actually find some dirt on me first. Don’t make up things.
Though going off this site… just wow. If you hate secondlife so much, why you logging in? Lol.
